Stabilization Support Services (SSS)

Long-Term Impact Award

“Some of the most meaningful work in any community happens quietly— person to person, life to life— helping people rebuild when the world has given them every reason to give up. This year’s Long-Term Impact Award honors one such effort: Stabilization Support Services, known as SSS, a free program of Special needs Services.”

What is SSS?

SSS is three consecutive 120-day Pilot Programs to assist adults and their families with generational trauma that are mentally decompensating to show stabilization in a 16-week period. The program will intake 15 adults (per 16 weeks) and provide individual counseling for 8 weeks. Group therapy will be provided for the last 8 weeks. It will also include a resource specialist to come up with goals and a plan to meet those goals of unmet needs. Goals include helping with independence and sustainability.

SSS’s outreach

SSS feels individuals with co-occurring disorders and substance abuse are deserving of services that are catered to their individual needs; services that promote a journey towards an independent, mentally stable, and sober life. Our outreach is to disadvantaged people who are underinsured or who cannot find resources in a mental health desert. This includes psychoeducation groups, harm reduction, and support for those recently discharged from incarceration.

SSS is commited to guiding those facing mental health and addiction challenges, helping them heal, rebuild their lives, and move forward on a path towards independence.
